Brendon Stauffer
Brendon Stauffer is currently finishing his Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a focus in family and couples counseling at Walden University. He has already passed his state licensing exam and is simply finishing internship requirements with his school. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminology from UNC-Greensboro with a minor in psychology. Brendon enjoys working with clients of all ages, despite much of his experience being with adults. He has worked in a wide variety of settings ranging from psychiatric hospitals and substance abuse clinics to foster care and adolescent mental health facilities. He engages clients with a multi-modal orientation involving person centered and cognitive behavioral, existential therapy. This allows him to cater the therapeutic experience to each individual. Some people may benefit from recognizing the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while others may simply need to speak through their experiences with someone who can listen attentively, empathize, and even challenge when appropriate. Attention to surrounding culture is also an important part of these modalities. Although couples counseling is much of his focus, he also works with individuals who struggle with addiction, depression, anxiety, or are simply experiencing a life transition. Brendon’s goal is to create a safe and stable environment for people to express themselves and explore their life situations.
