Sylvia Hairston is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate in North Carolina. Sylvia graduated from Widener University with a Masters of Social Work (MSW) and undergraduate with a Bachelors of Science in Human Services from Gardner-Webb University. Sylvia is compassionate, authentic, and professional as she has been in the field of Human Services for over 20 years. Prior counseling experience has been working within the inpatient setting and outpatient practice. Sylvia has experience working with adolescents, young adults, adults, and the senior population dealing with ADHD, grief/loss, trauma, PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, emotion regulations, self-esteem and other life stressors. Sylvia utilizes a person-centered approach by providing a non-judgmental and empathic counseling plan tailored to meet individual needs. Sylvia utilizes a range of clinical theories and interventions in practice which include: psychoeducation, psychodynamic theory, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, trauma-informed interventions, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and positive psychological interventions.
